Parent Consultation Meeting

Published on 20 April 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Unfortunately due to current restrictions, we are still having to change the format of our Parent and Carer Meetings this year. In line with the guidance, we are unable to hold our meetings in the school building. However, at Silverhill we still feel this time to discuss your child together is incredibly valuable, and so have decided to host our appointments online.

We would like to invite you to our second virtual Parent & Carer meeting to discuss how your son or daughter has settled back into school during and since lockdown. This time is an opportunity to meet with your child's class teacher to discuss their wellbeing, learning and share how things are going both at school and at home.

In order to facilitate this, your child's class teacher will be running all of their appointments on a single day between the 3rd and 14th May. The appointment slots available will vary dependent on the teacher, but have been chosen to offer you maximum flexibility. Appointments are to be booked in the normal manner, via Scopay as in previous years. Appointments will go live at 8am tomorrow morning.

As the school has been using Microsoft Teams for all remote learning needs over the last year, with all parents and staff now familiar with how to use it, we have opted to use it for the meetings too.

On the day of your appointment at the allocated time, your child's class teacher will call you via your child's own Team's account. These calls can be taken through the app, whether on a computer, tablet or mobile.. We hope this will provide the much needed flexibility to hold your appointment when suits you best.

Please note, that due to time restraints, appointments will automatically end after your ten minute slot, ready to connect to the next meeting. Therefore, it is important that calls are answered promptly to allow you the maximum time with your child's teacher. As ever, we would like to thank you for your continued support as we navigate our way through these unprecedented times. We hope that, although not the same, these meetings will allow us to regain a bit of normality, celebrating your child's successes and sharing their stories. We look forward to speaking to you soon.
