In school, we are able to return to all pupils using the hall for their lunches as well as using the hall for phase assemblies and indoor PE. All pupils will be expected to come into school in their school uniform (please see website for uniform expectations) and have a PE kit in school to change into for their PE lessons.
The children will no longer be in bubbles. However, following DfE advice to ensure good ventilation within the building, windows will remain open to encourage airflow. With this in mind you may wish to send your child into school with an extra layer in case it gets cold. The Government have pledged to provide schools with CO2 monitors, which we will be using to assess the air quality in each room.
At the moment, the guidance states that those who are double vaccinated and anybody under 18 will not need to isolate unless they receive a positive result from a PCR test. If there is a positive case of COVID19 in school, Test and Trace will get in touch with the close contacts to discuss testing.
We are delighted that we are able to remove many of the restrictions that have been in place since the start of the pandemic, however, if after seeking guidance from PHE it is deemed that there is an outbreak of positive cases amongst our pupils, we may be required to return to some of the previous restrictions.
This is why we need your help and support to prevent the spread of infection at Silverhill.
We hope that you agree that a pupil with symptoms should not attend the school, given the potential risk to others. Therefore, we are asking that you do not bring your child to school or on the school premises if they show signs of being unwell or believe they have been exposed to coronavirus.
If a member of your household has symptoms of coronavirus or has tested positive with a PCR test, please help us to control the spread by carrying out an LFD test on your child. If it is negative, they may return school.
Please note that all absences must be reported by parents directly to the School Office.
