So What is the PTFA?

PTFA stands for The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association. We are a registered charity, run by volunteers, to support the achievement of all the children at Silverhill School. The vast majority of events we hold are for fundraising, which pays for additional resources to enhance the learning experience for our children. We also provide refreshments at Whole School Events and the weekly Merit Assemblies to help create a sense of community.

Our aim is simple, we support the school to achieve its goals, enhance the experience of the pupils and support the staff at the school to help make learning an adventure and enjoyable journey.

Why Bother?

Unfortunately schools are becoming more and more dependent on their PTFAs for funds and we can only achieve this with the support of parents and the local community around the school.  Silverhill doesn't have money to spend on extras and that's where we come in!

We run a number of fundraising events throughout the year (roughly one every month) which are generally Children Focused, however in the past year we have introduced some more Family Orientated events such as the Back to School Fayre, Quiz Night and new for 2019 The Big Silverhill Campout! Have a look at our events page to see what's coming up!

What do you want from me?

Nothing! All we'd like is for you to think about how you can help us...

We don't have a typical profile for a volunteer and firmly believe that everyone has something to offer. We understand that we all have different pressures in life, some of us work full time, work part time, are full time parents or single parents but we all share the same objective: wanting the best for our children and school!

So, whatever your skill set, however limited your time is, please get in touch and talk to us about how we can work together to support our school.
