A special morning for Mickleover. Following weeks of rain, the weather changed on Sunday 10th November, Remembrance Sunday. The sun shone brightly and autumnal colours filled the gardens around All Saints Church. It was the perfect setting for a special morning. As usual, Mickleover residents turned out en masse filling the Etwall Road. Silverhill children could be seen in many guises; Cubs, Brownies, Beavers, Rainbows, Girl Guides and in four evacuees! Outstanding Team Achievement award!

And the trophies keep coming!! Our successful Girls Futsal team who reached the 2018/19 national finals were recognised for their fantastic achievement on Tuesday night in Chesterfield. Mrs Brundish nominated the team for the Derbyshire School Sport & Physical Activity Awards and they were duly shortlisted for the team prize. Each class at Silverhill has an animal mascot! The mascots have been chosen because they are all endangered animals. Did you know that turtles have been present on earth for over 200 million years? But they are at risk of disappearing as there numbers have declined by 80% over three generations. Three African rhinos are killed every day just in South Africa alone.
